Dog Collars

There are a few simple but important functions of the dog collar. First of all, they allow you to walk your dog on a leash. Secondly, they give you a place to attach the dog’s registration, which will provide your name and contact information just in case your dog gets lost.

Beyond this, there are a variety of collars available, some of them designed to add secondary benefits. For example, there are dog collars designed to lightly shock the dog when barking. Collars are also available with infrared technology implanted inside which is designed to unlock the dog door whenever the dog is near, and automatically lock back up once the dog travels a certain distance away.

There are also fashionable dog collars available. Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and several other designer brands have all designed and produced dog collars. This is of course far from a necessity and is mainly notable only if you are a fashionista.

Whatever collar you choose, make sure that it is user-friendly and comfortable for your dog. User-friendliness is especially important if you plan to invest in an electronic collar.
